Members of Roodepoort Police were conducting a stop-and-search operation this past Sunday (5 February) during which they arrested 80 suspects.
They were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, possession of stolen motor vehicle, sexual assault, crossing the railway line, shoplifting, possession of dagga, reckless and negligent driving, malicious damage to property, armed robbery, being an illegal immigrant and public drinking.
The ages of the suspects range from 20 to 53.
They were detained at Roodepoort Police Station.
