Warning: Blasting along JG Strydom Road today

Due to the recent adverse weather, blasting in the road reserve along JG Strydom Road, between Lobelia Avenue and Harebell Street in Weltevreden Park, has been postponed, but is rescheduled to begin today, 31 January.

Weather permitting, the blasting will take place between 2pm and 4pm.

This section of JG Strydom Road will be closed to all traffic during this time. Traffic will be diverted to Lobelia Avenue, Kastaiing and Harebell streets, as well as Cockspur Road and Harebell Street.

Community liaison officer for the F46 Rand Water Project Sector B, Jan von der Heyde, said community members are urged to keep sensitive pets indoors.
