Emergency water shutdown in Constantia Kloof
Burst pipe responsible for water outage in Constantia Kloof and surrounding areas
Residents of Constantia Kloof will be without water for the rest of the day because of an emergency shutdown by Johannesburg Water (JW).
According to JW, this is due to a burst pipe on Oribi Street that needs to be repaired. Repairs require that JW isolate the pipe by shutting off the water supply. Areas within the vicinity of the burst are therefore likely to experience low pressure and/ or no supply.

Weltevreden Park residents will also be affected by this outage.
JW spokesperson Tidimalo Chauke said the estimated time for completion of repairs is 7pm tonight. “After that we need to allow the system to recover and normal pressure will probably be restored by midnight,” she said.
Residents in the area are advised to use water sparingly to avoid a rapid decline of supply while repairs are underway.
