The anticipated 2016 matric results from the Independent Examination Board (IEB) were released at midnight last night.
Maragon Ruimsig has once again achieved a 100 per cent pass rate. This is a goal the school has reached for, and achieved, for the past ten years.
49 per cent of the learners are recognised to study towards a bachelor’s degree.
Christelle Wolmarans, the Advtech Group public relations officer, said that the 168 distinctions are an average of 1,6 distinction per learner.
The cream of the crop were however the three learners who managed to get 8 distinctions:

Additionally, Keara Conradie, Hanli Kruger and Cameron Bolt received seven distinctions. Jarrod Naude and Anastasios Synodinos got six As and Awande Dube finished with five.
Four learners, Ryan Moore, Sandy Sandlana, Jade Smith and Lisa Tredoux finished matric with four distinctions each.
The school’s principal, Deon Visser, said he is extremely proud of the class of 2016. “Congratulations, you’ve always been such a dynamic group and we are very proud of your matric result achievements. We wish you much success for your future,” he said.
