A ray of hope

The entire programme was free of charge for all the learners who enrolled.

Almost 100 learners graduated from the Call-Centre Management Course presented by the Power of Living in Hope (Polih) ministry. The programme took in youth from impoverished backgrounds from the Princess informal settlements for the four-month course. The call-centre training was sponsored by Liberty Financial Management and involved seven modules.

The programme, which is Seta accredited, was facilitated by Pastor Edwin Ramuhashi from Polih Ministries, which has been helping young people from Princess as well as Zandspruit, Matholesville, Durban Deep and Davidsonville.

“I’m passionate and want to do great work in our communities. We also offer counselling to families, help feed children from broken families and help young people with bursaries in our church. In some of our institutions, we also have agencies that job-hunt for young people. Next year, we will be focusing on our computer classes, training more than soft skills, and teaching people how to farm,” he said.

The entire programme was free of charge for all the learners who enrolled. They will take their qualifications further with more training.
