Ikholwa Children’s home need school shoes for Christmas

WELTEVREDEN PARK - Ikholwa Children's Home share their high and low points.

Ikholwa Children’s Home is a children’s home that makes it their goal to care for vulnerable children.

Some of their highlights for this year include that their oldest child, Chris managed to graduate from the Chefs Academy; the house managed to pay school fees in full for all children from donations; and they found an adult care facility for one of the girls who has been with them since the age of eight. Another big highlight included the finalisation of another adoption.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us, from donations, volunteers, to pro-bono medical help and therapy. Thank you to everyone who has walked with us over the years,” said Ikholwa general manager, Ulrike Mann.

She added that their low point was even after sending through all the applications for government grants and being approved on paper, they still get no help at all from the government to look after the children.

Ikholwa could do with some help this Christmas, here is a wishlist:

  •  Clothing and shoes
  •  Meat, fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Aqueous cream, Vaseline, bath soap, toothpaste
  • Any financial contribution would also be welcome.
