Groups of excited families and friends made sure they found prime spots to enjoy their favourite gospel artists, and as soon as the gates opened, they filled the garden with their picnic baskets and gazebos.

The day started with a splendid performance by the popular Soweto Gospel Choir, but that was not the all the was on offer. The concert-goers were also entertained by Lebogang Sekgobela, Dumi Mkokstad, Zaza Mokheti, and Benjamin Dube.

There was no shortage of food either, and the vendors made sure there was something for everyone’s taste – from hamburgers, chicken wings, and cotton candy to slushies and ice-cream. Children under the age of 12 years could enjoy games, face-painting and a variety of entertainments at the play area.

Everyone who was lucky enough to get a ticket in time enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime event.

All the money raised from the ticket sales will be donated to Children of Fire as Kaya FM and Spar strive to make a difference in communities – with the focus on early childhood development.
