National Roof Over Your Head Day
Be thankful for what you have on #NationalRoofOverYourHeadDay
3 December is National Roof Over Your Head Day – and it’s celebrated across the world.
This day was created to be thankful for what you have – starting with the roof over your head. We have many things that we take for granted and do not always stop to appreciate just how fortunate we are to have them.
There are so many things we just accept as a normal part of our everyday lives – the food we eat, the roof over our heads, the clothes we wear and so much more – that we tend to forget there are lots of people who do not have these things. There are many people who do not even have the roof of a shelter and have to make do with living in the street or alleys with only cardboard boxes to protect them from the elements.
National Roof Over Your Head Day is a day to be thankful and appreciate all you have, and to remember that being thankful is a better feeling than worrying about things you do not have.
Celebrate today by picking a name or two from a Christmas Giving Tree and buying the gifts indicated, volunteer to spend some of your time at a homeless shelter, or make a donation.
