Kool kid ready for title combat
Gauteng Championship boxing title on the line this weekend
Honeydew Fight Club trainer and professional boxer Percy ‘The Kool Kid’ Mkhize is hoping to put on an outstanding performance when he clashes with his opponent, Mpho Seforo for the Gauteng Championship on 26 November.
The 23-year-old, junior flyweight boxer, weighing 48,99kg, is confident that he will walk out victorious this weekend, despite the tough competitor he is up against.
“Seforo and I know each other very well. We fought two matches already. This time around is a decider and a lot is at stake,” he said.
“My opponent has a heart for boxing but I promise to give him my best performance and make sure that I take the title home,” the Soweto-born boxer added.
Both fighters have recently met in different fighting divisions. According to Mkhize, Seforo won by a split decision in their last professional match. Before that, The Kool Kid won an amateur match against him.
The much-anticipated fight will be held at the Centenary Hall in Krugersdorp at 6pm.
