The damage was reported to the ward councillor, Gert Niemand, and Johannesburg Water and Johannesburg Roads Agency at the beginning of November and promises were made that the repairs would be expedited as soon as possible. In less than a month, they fulfilled their promise and the damages were repaired.

The corner is now safe again, as there is no longer a hole in the sidewalk or in the road. Pedestrians can safely walk past without the danger of being run over, and motorists do not have to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid the big hole that appeared in the road.
