Able to box another day
ZANDSPRUIT - Football Without Borders receives a donation of equipment to further training.
After reading about Football Without Borders, a resident of Little Falls donated boxing equipment to the organisation.
The good Samaritan presented founder of the organisation, Michael Mapfunde, with a punching bag and a pair of boxing gloves that he had for his own use. The Samaritan also said he would ask around if anyone could donate other equipment.

Mapfunde explained that the donation will open doors for the organisation because it is a donation reference point to help people believe in the programme and continue to donate.
Mapfunde believes that making a difference in one child’s life will eventually affect the entire community of children and, therefore, this one piece of equipment will help the organisation move forward.

“We have identified that girls are very susceptible to adults’ bad vices and this is why we want to teach them life skills through sport, as they have no role models. There are no recreational activities for them in the community, so every donation helps,” Mapfunde added.
The organisation’s next step forward will be to get a suitable space in which the children can train.
