The Breakaways achieve success

Aiming for the triple crown

The Breakaways Darts team from The Breakaway Dart and Pool Club has won the Darts House League. The Breakaways triumphed over 16 other darts teams based on the West Rand and finished top of the log.

A Breakaways member, Johannes von Brandis, was delighted with his team’s achievements but said there was still more work to be done before the season draws to a close.

“This is the first time our team has brought back a title since moving to our new clubhouse so we are really happy about that. This will serve as a great confidence booster for all the members,” he said.

Now that the team has won the league, they will be turning their attention to the Divisional Cup and Match Cup. The team members will be pushing themselves hard in training to win the remaining cup tournaments and achieve the Triple Crown.

The Triple Crown is the name given to the feat of winning all three tournaments, including the league. In the finals of the cup games, The Breakaways will be facing off against the CGI Tigers.

The Breakaways take on the CGI Tigers on the 29th November and 6 December.
