Badminton duo rocks Durban

Pierre and Neels a success in Durban

Impala Badminton Clubs duo of Neels Botus and Pierre Martin participated in the South African Badminton Championships.

The annual competition, which will be hosted in Gauteng next year, took place last month (22 to 29 October) in Durban.

The 53-year-old Neels had a successful championship, competing for the Stavidice A team. In the singles category, he lost in the finals to claim the runner-up spot.

In the doubles category, Neels and his partner lost in the semifinals.

Pierre, representing the Southern Badminton Association, also thrived in Durban. The 40-year-old competed in the Plate division and lost the mixed-pairs final, earning the runner-up medal. He also reached the semifinals in the singles and the doubles categories, and helped his team finish the competition in third place.
