Pedestrian killed on N1

A pedestrian was killed yesterday morning after he was allegedly trying to cross the freeway. The elderly man was hit by a vehicle on the N1 near Newlands.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a call about a collision and when they arrived on scene, they found the man in his sixties lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries.

When paramedics examined the man, they found that he had succumbed to his extensive injuries and was pronounced dead.
