Young Performers Showcase

Talented youngsters to show off talent

Youngsters will have a chance to showcase their talents when the National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) Showcase takes place at the Roodepoort Theatre from 17 to 27 October. Judging by the fact that the tickets are sold out every year, the Showcase concerts have become a cultural highlight with their high standard of performance. These events feature some of the best young performers in drama, music and dance as identified in the various regions of the National Eisteddfod of South Africa. The top achievers will be acknowledged and awarded at each Showcase performance.

The NEA Eisteddfod competition has grown, and now attracts more than 10 000 entries in music, dance, drama and visual arts. The participants hail from various provinces such as Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the North West.

Another reason for the success of the NEA is the variety of events that provides ongoing opportunities for development of the talented learner – the importance of this in building self-esteem and confidence cannot be over-estimated.

Tickets will be priced from R60 to R90 and shows will start at 7pm. Performances take place on 17, 18, 19, 21, 24, 25 and 27 October.
