GALLERY: Ambulance flips over after accident

ALLEN'S NEK - No one injured after accident this afternoon on the corner of Jim Fouche and Hendrik Potgieter Road.

An accident between a Nissan Almera and a REMS ambulance caused huge traffic obstruction on the corner of Jim Fouché and Hendrik Potgieter roads.

The accident happened around 1.30pm on 10 October. The occupant in the Nissan Almera was very shaken up. He explained that he was travelling on Jim Fouché Road towards the Builders Warehouse. “The light turned green for me.” He said that he drove as normal when an ambulance came from the left side of Hendrik Potgieter Road and skipped the red light.

The Nissan Almera collided with the ambulance, causing it to overturn onto its left side. Luckily no injuries were reported. The driver of the Nissan said that he was on his way to the panelbeaters to have an older bump on the back of his car removed.

According to bystanders on the scene, there was only one person in the ambulance, this however, could not be confirmed. JMPD, Dowry Security, Netcare 911, Help 24 and the public relations officer of Honeydew CPF were on scene.
