Association equipped with fire extinguishers
Siyazifukula Learner Transport Association moving forward
“Together we can stand forever” is the motto that Siyazifukula Learner Transport Association lives by. Members of the association are working hard to show the community that the taxi association cares. They are implementing road safety regulations by adhering to the government policy to have fire extinguishers in taxis across the country.
Chairperson Bheki Ziqubu said he was happy with his association members who have taken the initiative seriously.
“Safety is a priority for our organisation as we are transporting the future of our country. We have been trained by different stakeholders such as such as Emergency Medical Services and the JMPD,” said Bheki.
The association’s members have first-aid kits, fire extinguishers and permits to ensure that parents of children have peace of mind knowing their children will have a trained driver to keep them safe.
Earlier this year, the association trained some of its members in point duty as officers to assist on the roads wherever there is an accident or traffic lights that are not working during peak hours.
