Poor conditions in Amorosa

A resident from Amorosa is at his wits’ end with the conditions of the road and the services opposite his complex.

Chris Styles said that Johannesburg Roads Agency created a roadway between properties and left the kerbs unfinished. To make matters worse, the road has no shoulder and the rocky kerbs may pose a danger to motorists. There are also no road markings or signs.

Upon investigation, it seemed as if the road was dug up for electric cabling. Apart from the road issues, this specific area in Flora Haase Road also has other issues. “A street light pole was removed and replaced with a pole without a light in the same spot.”

Styles added that City Power has not repaired a sub-board which has been badly damaged and knocked almost off its foundation with both doors stolen. These issues have been a problem for a couple of months now. “Another sub-board has been without doors for about a year,” concluded Styles.

The roads agency’s operations manager for communication marketing, Bertha Peters-Scheepers said that the problem is noted and that she will reply shortly. A staff member from the agency has since asked Roodepoort Northsider for the address so they can investigate the issue.

Hloni Motloung from City Power said the area manager will send a team to fix the problem.
