BREAKING NEWS: Pelser’s ‘confession’ to wife, read in court

ROODEPOORT - Shocking details of the day of the murder have emerged in court

It has emerged during the formal bail hearing of Marthinus Pelser, that two notes were left in a book in the kitchen of the home the couple shared.

The notes, written in Afrikaans, translate to:

“Bianca, I am really sorry. Don’t look into Deon’s cot. Phone the police. I am sorry, please know that I will always love you. PS Ruan.”

The second note read:

“I am in the veld next to the complex. Send somebody.” Words were also scratched out of the note.

During the hearing, chilling details about the six-month-old baby boy’s murder were revealed. According to the investigating officer, the baby was half naked and his face, chest and hands were so severely burned that the skin was removed.

Supporters of baby Deon, filled the court room, wearing white.

A petition, started by community members, objecting to Pelser’s bail application, has reached nearly 700 signatures.

The state has argued that this should be treated as a Schedule 6 offence, and has vehemently opposed bail.

This is a developing story. More details to follow.
