Hole finally fixed

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Joburg Roads Agency fix big hole after three months.

Motorists can finally drive without worry as a big hole on the corner of Cockspur Road and Wildebraam Street is being fixed after three months of it being there.

According to Neville Burnett, Riverwel Resident’s Association committee member, the hole has been there since 27 May when a pipe burst at the corner. The hole caused motorists to swerve sharply to avoid it putting them in danger, he said.

Operations manager of marketing and communication, Bertha Peters-Scheepers from Joburg Roads Agency (JRA) reported the issue to Ntsikelelo Ngubeni from JRA. Ngubeni said that they would fix the hole on 24 August. “The tar and kerbing will be repaired,” said Ngubeni. He added that they encourage residents to report issues concerning road and storm water to JRA’s hotline. Upon investigation, Roodepoort Northsider found that JRA workers were busy fixing the hole.
