School mob attacks vehicle after pedestrian accident

Woman had a small child with her in the vehicle.

A mob of high school pupils allegedly attacked the vehicle of a female motorist and her small daughter after she was involved in a pedestrian accident with a school girl.

The school girl was crossing South Road opposite Hoërskool die Adelaar, but not at the pedestrian crossing, when the accident happened. Fortunately the girl was not seriously injured and walked away from the scene. Pupils then surrounded the woman’s vehicle and started beating it. Some allegedly even jumped on it, according to West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch’s spokesperson Frik van Zyl.

One of the waiting taxi drivers got involved and slashed the two rear tyres of the woman’s vehicle.

The police and Metro Police attended the scene.

Due to the holiday the school could not be reached for comment.
