Keagan’s an ace on two wheels

Young cyclist has bright future ahead.

Keagan Bontekoning recently brought home a gold medal when he participated in the Cross Country Mountain Biking Gauteng Championships.

The Maragon Private Schools‘ pupil was also awarded Gauteng provincial colours for his performance. Keagan has been in fine form throughout the year, excelling at various competitions. Earlier this year, he received four golds and two silvers when he competed in the South African Track Cycling Championships. He was also crowned the South African Omnium U/16 boys champion, while in the Team Pursuit race, his team broke the South African U/16 boys’ record and won a gold medal.

This talented cyclist is currently representing Maragon in the High School Spur Series. With four races in the competition, Keagan has already made his mark, finishing in third position in the first race and second position in the second race. This means he’s currently in second place on the log. Only the top three cyclists will be selected for the Gauteng team and will participate in the finals.
