The upcoming elections are taking centre stage at the moment with people contemplating who to vote for. By now it should be pretty clear that your vote is needed and it can make a difference.
What I find peculiar is that some councillors, whom I haven’t heard from for the past almost two years since I’ve been back at Caxton, are suddenly crawling out of the woodwork. Some of them are actually trying to work to gain votes.
There are people who feel that voting won’t make a difference. How do you know? Your vote might the one to tip the scale in another direction.
If you haven’t voted, you cannot complain about anything. Think carefully before you make your mark. I am very curious to see what is going to happen. We might be in for a surprise, let’s hope it will be a pleasant one. Change is needed before this country slides further downhill.
August is also Women’s Month and people are gearing up for special events to celebrate being a woman. The Record is going to feature four women who are (hopefully) an inspiration to other women – women who have risen above their circumstances to become successful in their own right. We hope you enjoy the articles.
This week we feature Ronel Harris, whom I wrote about last week.
Feel free to write to the Record about someone you find inspiring, a role model and someone who captures the essence of being a woman.
Until next week, take care of one another.
Ciao
