Prayer for police

KENSINGTON B – Lewis believes that prayer boost police morality.

Ziggy the prayer warrior from Bryanston Methodist Church said that the bible instructs people to pray for those who are in authority because God had put them there.

“When we pray for them [police], we are able to live an orderly life and if we don’t, we may have chaos like what is happening now. It is because we are not praying for the authorities,” he said.

Ziggy recently prayed for the Randburg police at Kensington B to show solidarity that the church is with them. “Police appreciated that there are people who value their work. We also pray for their families,” he said.

This prayer warrior also called the police who may require counselling given what they go through in their job. Police spokesperson, Constable Stanley Bopape said the men and women in blue felt appreciated for their good work in serving and protecting the communities.

Roy Lewis from the church further explained that there was a need from the community to appreciate and embrace the work done by the police officials on a daily basis.

“Most people do not appreciate them. Every time the police risk their lives – from the moment they leave their houses and family behind to protect the communities,” he said.

He concluded that the prayer uplifted their moral and spiritual.
