Eleven people were injured this morning when a bakkie overturned on the corner of Buhrmann Street and Mouton Road in Horison.
According to officials on scene, the bakkie was driving along Mouton Road towards Ontdekkers Road when a vehicle driving on Burhmann Street skipped a stop street and collided with the bakkie.
The bakkie was carrying labourers to their workplace. Johannesburg EMS, ER24, Netcare 911 and other emergency services were swiftly on scene.
10 patients including the driver of the vehicle were treated for minor to moderate injuries while one was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. JMPD officials including the 54 squad were on scene. The lanes on Mouton had to be closed and local CPF members helped redirect traffic.
Unconfirmed reports claim the driver of the vehicle was a 17-year-old without a license.
