Photos: Fire guts businesses on R41

More than two tanks of water depleted.

At least two businesses on the R41 close to Leratong, namely a plastic recycler and a motor dealership, suffered major losses last Saturday night, 27 May, when a fire started at the recycler and spread.

Emergency services, the Metro Police and West Suburb Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW) were dispatched to the fire at about 10.50pm. WSRNW assisted the Metro Police in closing off the road. Fire trucks depleted two water tanks and fire trucks from Cresta, Brixton and Krugersdorp came to the rescue.

The smoke was still billowing until late Sunday afternoon. No one was injured in the fire.
