Witpoortjie — Five fighters from Total Submission Kickboxing Club were delighted with their success after participating in South African Kickboxing Championships.
The national competition had participants from all over the country such as Eastern, Western and Northern Cape as well as KwaZulu Natal and Free State.

Participating in the senior section, Lombaard managed to return home with a silver medal after finishing in second position.
This means she will now be part of the Presidential Squad.
She is joined another senior, Oberholzer, who snatched a bronze medal as he finished in third position.
In the junior section, Langa and van Jaarsveld both battled hard to finish in second positions with silver medals.
They both qualified to be in the Presidential Squad. Du Toit, who competed in the senior section, finished the competition in fifth position.
Head coach Darrin Opperman was beside himself with joy as his kickboxers excelled at the competition.
“I am extremely proud of all the kickboxers who participated and those who cam to support us. We have proven once again that we are a competitive club. We don’t just make up the numbers, we only send the best. All of them had tough fights throughout the tournament but they persevered and were rewarded,” he said.
The kickboxers will now be focusing on the upcoming Grade North 2 and Ring Contact Fighting Heart competitions.
