Residents say no to Pikitup tariffs

JOBURG – With Pikitup recently recovering from a five-week strike by its employees, new tariff proposals have been put up on its website.

With Pikitup implementing new tariff increases that could go up as high as 129 per cent, residents share their views on the matter.

Kobus de Jager said that he was unhappy hearing about the tariff increase, it would cause a ripple effect raising other costs. “At the moment I am paying R260 and I do not feel that I am getting my money’s worth. Simply put, the service we receive from Pikitup is poor,” he said.
