We stay in the same street as the crèche where the hijacking took place and traffic at peak times for dropping off and picking up children is always a nightmare. I still can’t understand how the Municipality can approve a crèche with no parking available in a residential area – where the only parking is in the road which is causing traffic backlogs and for safety reasons like the hijacking.
It is so convenient for anybody who is on the look-out for trouble. Parents picking up our kids from a crèche or nursery are excited to see their kids after a days work and then you need to watch your back for hijackers like these. What is more important, buckle up your child and make sure they are safe or get in your car and get away as quick as possible before you get hijacked.
I think there should be questions asked as well why the opening of a crèche was approved or even allowed. Did it go through to right channels to get it approved. If my child was in that crèche I will demand Apcan guards at least because there is no safe parking/drop or pick up area for the mothers. Wizy Wo up the road where my grand child goes at least there is a big area where you can go in and park.
