Two thieves learn the hard way

Arrested twice in same week.

Two criminals had to learn the hard way that he who does not want to obey has to be made to feel.

Sunday (10 April) at around 2.50pm West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW) received a call from someone living next to an unoccupied house on Valkenier Street, who said there was suspicious activity on the empty premises.

On arrival they found three suspects in the act of stripping the house of its cables. One of the suspects managed to flee but the other two were arrested and handed over to the police.

Yesterday (14 April) at around 5.20pm WSRNW again received a call about noises coming from an unoccupied house on Bleusel Street. Along with neighbours the WSRNW patrollers entered the house and discovered two suspects hiding in the roof. To their surprise it was the same two suspects they arrested just days before. The two thieves were even wearing the clothes they had on the previous Sunday when they were arrested.

It was established that the two suspects were released on a warning on Wednesday but their thirst for crime overcame them and they could not resist the temptation to steal again.

“Busted by the same people, for the same crime, in the same clothes within a week,” laughed WSRNW spokesperson Frikkie van Zyl.
