Happy ending for Eric-the-chainsaw-guy

"God is good," says Eric.

43-year-old Eric Lekgetho’s drama, which started when he lost his income after Metro Police confiscated his chainsaw, has finally ended on a happy note.

This morning the people with the big hearts at Reef Chainsaws handed over a brand new Tandem chainsaw and other related accessories worth R5000 to Eric. According to the Marketing and Advertising Manager of this family owned business, Lyndel Cash, the company is “very pro-active in giving back to the community and takes their social responsibility very serious”.

Eric could hardly contain his excitement as Sales Manger Fanie van Vreden gave him a demonstration of his new best friend.

Over and above this gift, a 87-year-old woman, who wanted to stay anonymous, has offered to contribute to Eric’s children’s schooling. She initially wanted to pay the fine for Eric in order to get his chainsaw back, but when Reef Chainsaws stepped in she decided to make the contribution to the children’s education.

“God is good and he will bless these people,” said a humble Eric with a big smile.
