RADIOKOP – Get to know your local Radiokop RA.

Community members are encouraged to get involved and support their local resident’s associations.

The Radiokop Resident’s Association (RRA) has been growing well says chairperson Greg Olsen. “We now have a WhatsApp group to keep members informed of the goings on,” added Olsen. A large number of complexes have joined the RRA this year. The RRA committee has welcomed three new and very active members this year.

RRA has had successes during the past year, “Our PI (Patrol Initiative) has had a dramatic positive impact on the crime in the area, reducing the incidents to a near zero. They do however, need more volunteers as their time and petrol are completely voluntary.”

Some of the problems the community has faced such as potholes and traffic light failures have been swiftly fixed by Johannesburg Roads Agency added Olsen. “One instance of excessive noise at unreasonable times has been attended to by the Department of Environmental Affairs very efficiently.”

The RRA will host their annual general meeting on 10 April to be held at the Ridgecrest Family Church grounds on 7 Erasmus Road in Radiokop. There will aslo be a lamb on a spit.

Olsen added a final message to the community, “We are here to support the community, so please support the RRA by paying your membership fees.”
