JMPD arrests 35 motorists

LINDEN – 35 motorists were arrested during an operation by JMPD ahead of the Easter holiday.

JMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar confirmed that at least 35 motorists were arrested on the evening of 18 March.
The arrest follows various operations conducted by JMPD and SAPS on various roads around Joburg.
At least 19 motorists were arrested in Linden precinct. JMPD vowed to continue conducting operations throughout Joburg until the end of Easter holidays.
Motorists were arrested for drunk driving, reckless and negligent driving. “These operations will continue until after Easter to help reduce road deaths,” said Supt Minnaar.
