On the morning of 8 March, a normal road block set up by the JMPD took a dramatic turn when a high speed chase ensued.
The car chase, which began in Florida and ended on the Malibongwe off-ramp was said to have involved a white VW Scirocco. The vehicle in question was also positively linked to a robbery back in January.
Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said that a suspect was arrested and was being held at Honeydew Police Station.
Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs of Honeydew Police can now confirm that an arrest of a 30-year-old male was made. A case of possession of stolen vehicle was opened against the suspect.
Detective are said to still be busy with further investigations.
