Ridgevale proud of their athletes

Ridgevale Primary pupils aiming for more as athletics season reaches its climax.

Ridgevale Primary School’s shotput record holder was at it again this year as the athletics season continues.

Caleb Mulenga participated in the Johannesburg West Athletics Championships where he beat a six year record in the boys U/13 shotput by setting a 12.46 metres.

This is not the first time Mulenga has beaten a record this year.

At the Roodepoort Championships in early February he beat 2009 record of 11.98 metres by setting a mammoth 12.57 metres for a new record.

He is also the current holder of the boys U/12 shotput record of 12.28 metres which he set last year.

He will now be heading to the Gauteng Championships. He will be joined by his school mates Sivuyile Monoana who will compete in the 1500 metres and Akunna Evuleocha who will line up in the 100 metre sprint.

Mulenga will be aiming to do better than last year where he place in fourth position in the U/12 shot put event at the South African National Championships.
