Fundraiser for Valentine’s Day

WILGEHEUWEL – Dios Los Ninos pupils raised funds by selling cakes, mugs and lollipops for their Valentine's Day celebration at the school.

Dios Los Ninos School in Wilgeheuwel had a successful fundraising ceremony and Valentine’s Day.

All pupils went to school dressed in red and spoiled their teachers with roses.

As part of their Valentine’s Day celebration, pupils sold heart lollipops, small mugs and raffle tickets for fundraising.

The project was run by the Parents Teachers Students Association (PTSA).

Principal Leonie de Kock said PTSA worked on all these and did an amazing job.

“Overall, it was just a fun day that took place in good spirit and pupils enjoyed the opportunity to dress in something other than uniform ,” said De Kock.

She said teachers also appreciated getting spoiled by pupils.

De Kock explained that the school also had a cake sale donated by a parent and the fund from this sale also went toward the Valentine’s Day.

Two pupils, Xilo Mlangeni and Belinda, won Valentine’s Day hampers and one contained a teddy bear.

“I am very proud of the PTSA pupils and the manner in which they completed this project. They were real stars,” De Kock added.
