GALLERY: Allen Glen takes on Mondeor
ALLEN'S NEK –Allen Glen High put up a strong front against Mondeor.
The mighty Allen Glen High School (AGHS) cricket team battled off against Mondeor High School in a tight game between both first teams on 8 February on AGHS home turf.
AGHS took to the pitch first with an impressive batting line-up. Mondeor did quick work of bowling out the batsmen with swift catches. The game at that point was in clear favour of Mondeor for the win, however AGHS’s bowling also lead to falling wickets.
Mondeor High School first team coaches, Roland Subbiah and Calvin Koopan said, “It was going very well for us in the first 20 overs with Mondeor taking a strong lead but the AGHS came back into the game by consistently knocking our wickets.”
The game was very tight towards the end due to poor lighting conditions and the looming bad weather. This caused strain on both first teams as AGHS had to reduce their bowling pace and Mondeor batsmen struggled to see the ball.
Overall AGHS scored 104 all out in 18.1 overs and Mondeor reached the target in 12.3 overs with the loss of six wickets to take the win.
