We’ve been receiving very strange requests from the community lately, especially on the WhatsApp groups.

Yesterday, I received a message from someone asking whether they could send their application for free stationery. Nothing in life is free, and this is a newspaper, not a stationery shop.

Another said they wanted to upgrade their marks and asked if I could help them. Uhm… No, speak to the relevant institution.

Some want to study teaching with us while others asked if we could set them up with the closest soccer team. Then there are those who pop in just to say hi.

Not everybody is patient either. If I don’t respond quickly they send a bunch of questions marks and end it off with an exclamation mark. If I ever wondered whether punctuation marks are important, I know now.

The IT Department tweaked our WhatsApp a little and it means you will continue to receive news reports three times a day. But, should you wish not to be part of the group anymore, please just block the number.

In the meantime, I hope you still enjoy our free service of bringing the latest news right to your phone.

Until next week, please take care of one another and ensure your animals have enough shade in the scorching heat.

Till next week.

Ciao
