The sky is falling!

Are you able to shed light on these strange floating objects?

It wasn’t a bird, it wasn’t a plane and it wasn’t Superman that was spotted in the beautiful Roodepoort sky one morning last week. Could it be floating foam?

Wes Stevens best described the sight as strange and out-of-this-world. He said on Thursday 28 January he was travelling along Penchartz Road near Eagle Canyon when he noticed strange, cloud-like objects floating in the air not far above the tree tops. He stopped his vehicle and photographed the phenomenon with a cellphone.

“They were like balls of froth,” Wes told the Record.

“Conspiracy theorists are going to have a ball trying to explain this; I can’t.”

He said as the objects floated, some separated from the rest. He managed to touch some of it as it floated closer to the roadway and said it didn’t disperse as easily as he had expected. He said he did not believe it to be bubbles or foam from a cleaning product being used in the area.
