Gallery: Mrs Globe farewell ceremony

MULDERSDRIFT – Mrs Globe’s friends, colleagues and relatives described her as the essence of pure beauty.

Riana Mooi, Mrs Globe 2015, felt blessed and grateful for the support and love shown by people who worked with her.

Scores of her relatives, friends and colleagues converged at the Oakfield Farm on 22 November to celebrate Mooi’s farewell ceremony.

Mooi, a Little Falls resident, explained that her journey as Mrs Globe was exciting and challenging.

“I hope people will see us as women who want to go out there to inspire, empower and impact positively and I need to show that with my life and my story. I wish post Mrs Globe, we will still continue to be friends. To share each other’s lives and support one another. My family has been very supportive,” Mooi concluded.

Her husband Craig Mooi, reckoned that the journey was absolutely special.

“I feel so special and privileged to be her husband. All the places we had been and the people we met all because of the crown,” said Craig.

Jaco Hoffmann from Digipix has been Riana’s photographer for over the past two years.

He said Riana always looked the same with or without a crown.

“Riana is not a diva, which distinguishes her from other models. She does not use the title to be someone,” explained Hoffmann.

Mrs Globe 2015 also revealed the dress designed by Michael Bezuidenhout, that she will wear when she hands over the crown to Mrs Globe 2016 at Shenzhen in China.

Bezuidenhout explained the design was inspired by the beautiful nature of South Africa as well as the background which is predominantly black.

“So it is Riana with all her beauty representing the country and African continent in Asia,” he said.

“Words cannot describe her presence. She is so pure, when you see her you want to treat her as fragile,” Bezuidenhout concluded.
