More than R250k to charity this November
A Muslim community organisation donates to local and international charities twice a year.
Muslim community organisation Crescent Lifestyle donated R251 118 this November to various charities operating on the West Rand.
Uplifting the community is top priority to them. Early in November five organisation operating on the West Rand, other parts of Johannesburg and nationally benefited from Crescent Lifestyle’s donations, handed over during a ceremony. This is the second payout this year. The organisation aims to connect, benefit and support its members with religious and lifestyle information, discounts and other benefits.
Organisation representative Wasiela Ally said the difference the contributions have made is tangible in the projects the beneficiaries have run with the aid.
On joining the programme, members get to select a beneficiary who will benefit from their contributions.
“We are grateful for the trust that our members place in our hands,” Al-Firnas Patel from Crescent Lifestyle said.
“We’re only helping our members to take what’s in their hearts and to place it in the hands of those they would like to help the most.”
Johannesburg-based and international organisations received the following generous donations:
• R33 414.63 to Gift of the Givers (Fordsburg)
• R18 048.78 to Ikageng Itereleng Aids Ministry (Soweto)
• R17 944.25 to Al-Imdaad Foundation (United Kingdom)
• R15 609.76 to Sultan Bahu Centre (Fordsburg)
• R11 614.40 to Baitul Ilm Organisation (Eldorado Park)
