Entries for performers are now open to participate at the annual West Rand Music Festival which will be held next year from 2 – 7 May.
Choirs, dance and solo acts, bands and any other type of musicians are welcome to enter the competition and entries close on 1 March next year.
“The aim of the festival is to create a great platform for people to perform life and get valuable feedback from professional adjudicators,” said organiser Gordon Woods.
“After every performance, they are handed back their mark sheets that are filled in while they are on stage and then feedback by adjudicators is given to them,” Gordon added.
They also each receive certificates for participating and later that year a prize-giving is held where winners of every categories are honoured.
“It is still too early to determine how long the festival will run for, but we are aiming for about a week which will definitely depend on the entries we receive,” said Trinda Woods, one of the organisers of the festival.
Visit their Facebook page, The Music of the Heart Studio, and send them a private message to receive application forms.
