Education Through Soccer Academy receives sports donation
RUIMSIG – 122 Sports vests donated by Run/Walk For Life go to Education Through Soccer Academy on 19 November.
Education Through Soccer Football Academy (ETS) in Ruimsig received 122 sports vests on 19 November.
The vests were donated by businessman Ray Bienedell who is the director of the biggest SA fitness company, Run/Walk For Life.
Bienedell, who resides in Wilgeheuwel, handed over the 250 sports vests to Caxton Jhb North West, to be donated to the most deserving communities.
“Taking care of the needy is one of our priorities. For us it is not all about making profit, but also making sure our community is fit, healthy and well taken care off,” said Bienedell.
He said for the past years, they donated to sports centres and the Rand Park branch donates to Kingsway Christian School regularly.
A few years ago, he donated six pairs of running shoes to Caxton Jhb North West readers when they launched the Sharonlea branch.
“The vests we are donating now are valued at R62 000,” Bienedell said.
He said they were launching a new kit, so they couldn’t just destroy the vests while they know that there are so many children who need the vests.
Bienedell said the vests are meant for active runners within the needy communities for training purposes.
The ETSA coach Lloyd Tuffney appreciated the generous gift for his soccer club students.
“This is so beautiful, it adds value into our club,” said Tuffney.
ETSA is a soccer academy operating in Ruimsig and it caters for players aged 13, 14, 15 and 19.
The academy is run by UEFA licensed coaches and is designed to bring out the best in each player.
“We offer both part-time and full-time programmes and we have children from across the province,” said Tuffney.
