JSPCA inspectors are out on the road, visiting numerous farms and areas where livestock are kept, as they are already battling with water and feed shortages.
JSPCA public relations officer, Jolene Beyleveld, said they have had a number of reports of animals being affected by the drought.
“Johannesburg SPCA operates as far out as Krugersdorp and Magliesburg and the surrounds, where there are numerous farms and animals that need our assistance,” said Beyleveld.
She added that should this type of weather due to the Elnino continue until Autumn 2016 as predicted, they expect the vast majority of animals around the country to suffer.
“Please we need your eyes, ears, voice and donations to help us help these animals,” pleads Beylveld.
JSPCA asks that if you see any animals that require their assistance, to notify them immediately, or the nearest SPCA to you.
