Domestic worker helped steal R130 000 worth of goods

The domestic worker is still on the run.

At least R130 000 worth of goods, including a firearm, were taken from a flat in Goldman Street during a house robbery on Monday morning (9 November).

An elderly couple who stayed in the flat were allegedly burned by their domestic worker only known as Pricilla, with a hot iron while they were being robbed.

“The robbery occurred at around 9.10am. Jewelry, six watches, four cell phones, a pellet gun, R15 000 in cash and a firearm were taken from the unit,” said Florida Police spokesperson Sergeant Mpho More.

Police are still searching for Pricilla who allegedly aided two robbers in gaining entry into the home of a family she was working for.

“The suspects are unknown to the owner of the flat,” More said.

“No arrests have been made to date.”

The Record has learnt that the stolen items were not insured.
