Charterhouse teacher selected for PSL Reserve Soccer Leauge

RADIOKOP – Charterhouse teacher meets requirements to obtain a spot in the PSL Reserve Soccer Leauge.

Charterhouse Preparatory School teacher Shaun Olive, proves he is worth his salt by gaining promotion into the PSL Reserve Soccer Leauge.

Olive said on 31 August he was invited to run a provincial fitness test.

He explained the test comprised six 40m sprints that had to be completed within six seconds with 90 seconds recovery time in between.

“The endurance part of the test comprised a 150m sprint completed in 30 seconds and a 50m recovery walk in 40 seconds. The test is based around a 400m athletics track,” explained Olive.

He said by passing the fitness test, having a Level 5 and being under the age of 25, he has achieved the necessary requirements to have been promoted to the PSL Reserve Soccer Leauge.

“I am very proud of myself for achieving this,” said Olive.

He added that he is also currently involved in the Multichoice Super-Diski Challenge Tournament.

“This tournament incorporates all the Premier Soccer League academy teams and players that are on their way up and just about to break through into their respective first team squads. The tournament is used as a base for development for both players and refereeing officials,” said Olive.
