BAT employee kidnapped and robbed in North Riding
NORTH RIDING - Three masked and armed men arrested for kidnapping and robbing a British American Tobacco employee.
Honeydew Police are investigating cases of car-hijacking, armed robbery and kidnapping against three suspects, who are still at large.
This after three men allegedly kidnapped and robbed an employee from British American Tobacco (BAT), who was delivering cigarettes in North Riding on 5 November.
According to Honeydew Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, the masked men with firearms overpowered the BAT man and forced him into their vehicle.
“The three suspects in a silver grey Mercedes Benz drove around with the employee and after a while, they stopped. The men were accompanied by a white Quantum panel van.
“They off-loaded the cargo from the BAT vehicle into the panel van,” explained WO Jacobs.
The men fled the scene in their vehicles with the loot.
“No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery,” she concluded.
