Emperors Palace was again the venue earlier this month for the annual PinkDrive Pink Tie Dinner. The event is held to raise funds for the PinkDrive mobile breast check units that enable all South African women access to clinical breast examinations and breast health education.
This year’s event had a fun and glitzy Mardi Bra theme.

South Africa Armand du Plessis of Ruimsig and his partner were among many high profile celebrities who attended the event.
Since the projects inception in 2009, they have done 8613 mammograms, 122710 Clinical breast examinations and 176263 Women educated on breast health.
In March last year, PinkDrive unveiled South Africa´s first Mobile Women´s Health Unit in the form of a 14 ton truck.
Described as a Doctor´s Room on Wheels, the Unit boasts a state of the art gynaecology area for pap smears and examinations, a reception area for administration and a radiology area.
This unit will address cervical cancer, as well as offering mammograms.
