Muldersdrift SAPS management won awards in September around the Krugersdorp Cluster.
They won the award for most cleanest station around the Krugersdorp Cluster and CPF of the year. The Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel K D Seabi received a special award for the Best Man of the Year from the Krugersdorp Cluster.
Commander Major General Mateisi, Vispol members and detectives received a special award for arresting a group of the most wanted criminals that were terrorising the community of Muldersdrift.
They arrested criminals were committing crimes such as murder house robberies, rape and housebreakings from 2008 to 2015.
The detectives discovered that among the arrested criminals, a number of them were linked to about 49 house robberies for the period mentioned above.
Firearms were also recovered during their arrest and crime, as a result, in Muldersdrift has declined tremendously.
Suspects have already been convicted and sentenced to life and 148 years’ imprisonment and others are still awaiting trial.
The first Best Man of the Year award came as a result of good management skills exercised by the Station Commander of Muldersdrift Lt Col Seabi.
During 2014, the CPF of Muldersdrift under the leadership of the chairperson Joncy Page, Social Crime Prevention, sector manager and communication officer and Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya mobilised and visited all churches and all the informal settlements where there were no lights.
The newly appointed Muldersdrift CPF chairperson Johan Nell applauded the previous chairperson for his commitment in the eradication of crime and promised to follow in his footsteps.
