Afriforum Youth hands memorandum to Presidency
JOBURG - AfriForum explains why they did not participate in the #feesmustfall protest marches.
AfriForum Youth will be handing over a memorandum on 27 October to the Presidency at the Union Buildings in Pretoria regarding the recent protest marcges about study fees increases.
AfriForum spokesperson Ian Cameron said the #Feesmustfall campaign does not relate to all students.
“For this reason representatives of AfriForum Youth from the four initially Afrikaans universities across South Africa (University of Pretoria, Stellenbosch University, North West University and University of the Freestate ) will visit the Union Buildings in Pretoria,” said Cameron.
He said AfriForum will also inform the public why they did not support the protest marches.
“Given the changes that the country’s tertiary education landscape is facing, the government must take notice of Afrikaner students’ issues,” said Cameron.
